In April, 2007, my husband and I planned a hiking vacation in southeastern Utah. We parked our travel trailer in the Archview Resort north of Moab. You really can see a couple of the arches from this park.
The laundry area, restrooms, and showers were clean, and everything worked. A Shell gas and diesel station at the entrance to the RV Park proved convenient. A store on the premises carries all those things that I tend to forget to bring, or need to restock. The price seemed reasonable, and I would stay there again.
We chose to go in April because weather.com said the average high temperatures were in the upper 60s with lows in the 40s. I can’t hike when it’s hot, so that’s perfect. We did have to dodge a few raindrops, but never got wet. Many of the showers that approached, threatening to soak us, evaporated just before they reached the ground.
One fearsome thunderstorm caught up with us while we were driving back to “camp” from a day’s outing. I tried to take pictures of the lightning, but that was like shooting at flying bumblebees with a pistol from the back of a galloping horse! I was unsuccessful.
To be continued…
